Turnip & Swede

Names: Turnip (left) & Swede (right)
Species: Guinea pigs
Sex: Male (neutered)
Approx DOB: October 2024
Status: Available for adoption

Turnip & Swede are a pair of piggy brothers who came into our care through no fault of their own.

They are both big lads who enjoy lots of space to mooch around in, where they can explore and forage either together or apart as they please! While they will occassionally have a little teeth chatter at each other over food, plenty of space and two of everything helps keep them calm.

Like most pigs, they’re not keen on being picked up but are very food orientated and associate humans with snacks! If you’re patient and calm they’ll allow a head rub, and will most likely take food from your hands. They’re a comical, nosey pair who love to explore and forage. In their foster home they are enjoying living in a 6×3 grid C&C with a loft space, so we’d love to see them adopted to something similar.

Turnip has a bit of long hair on his bum which will need combing or regular trimming to keep tidy and mat-free.

We’ve had both boys neutered which has health benefits and will future proof them in terms of companionship options when one piggy inevitably passes before the other.

Minimum housing requirements: 20 sq ft on one level (equivalent to a 5×3 grid C&C)

Adoption fee: Minimum donation of £100 for the pair (each boy cost us £135 to neuter!)

Please read our guinea pig advice pages prior to applying to adopt.
