Bat came into our care after a change in his previous human’s circumstances. He arrived with his friend Boo, who we very sadly lost due to an abdominal tumour. Bat now needs a home with at least one male chinchilla buddy.
Bat has been health checked by an exotics vet and is in good health, though does have cataracts in both eyes. He likely has very little – no vision, but he gets around his cage absolutely fine, managing ledges with ease.
He’s a curious, active boy who prefers not to be handled, but will take food from hands and likes to watch what you’re up to!
Minimum housing requirements: Liberta explorer sized cage as an absolute minimum (90cm L x 60cm W x 120cm H without stand). Ideally we would like to see chinchillas housed in large DIY enclosures with at least 1mx1mx1.5m space or even a specific chin safe room.
